Job Training
The job training program at Oakdale Christian Academy is designed to teach junior high and high school students relevant work-related skills. Every student on campus participates in the program for one hour each day after school. Students are assigned to a work crew with a student supervisor in the designated area. Level one and level two workers are evaluated daily by their student supervisors. Feedback is essential to improving work quality.
Those who demonstrate excellence in various areas may be promoted to level three or four supervisors. Job training crews include classroom cleaning, gym cleaning, dining hall cleaning, dining hall food preparation, grounds crew, academic support, and maintenance. The dorm deans and the dean of students oversee the job training program. Students earn coupons for their job training performance that they may redeem for snacks, drinks, or other privileges.
