What an expanded and renovated boys’ dorm will do for Oakdale’s ministry
In recent years, it has been increasingly difficult to provide adequate service to the boys living in Odermann Hall. In fact, we have had parents withdraw their students specifically because of the condition of the boys’ dormitory, wanting a better dormitory facility for their children.
But all is not lost. First the good things about Odermann Hall:
- Built in the 1980s, it is in good structural condition.
- The bedrooms are large.
- It’s a solid building.
Some of the problems:
- No central AC;
- Furnaces and duct work need a complete overhaul;
- A tiny commons area;
- Substandard bathroom facilities; and
- The dorm parent apartment is only 922 square feet.
