Spiritual Life
Oakdale was founded nearly 100 years ago to introduce young people to a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. That remains our driving commitment today. Every staff member at Oakdale has a vibrant testimony and comes to Oakdale to share their life with teenagers from around the world. Our goal is that our faith will permeate everything we do at Oakdale. Yes, we have Bible classes, chapel services, church on Sundays, and small groups, but we strive to model a faith that is part of all of life. We work to incorporate God’s truth, as revealed in the Bible, into everything we do.
We pray that our students will see their entire lives – whether it’s worship, sports, or everyday tasks – as something that glorifies God. We are also committed to teaching students to lead by serving. Opportunities for students to learn and practice serving others include Enrichment Night, nursing home visitation, mentoring other students, and community outreach activities.
“Because of Oakdale, Christ has given me a better life: a life that has been filled with Christ’s love.” ~ Garrison
